12-22-09 The year is almost over and I still dont know how to use a semi-colon or communicate properly with my infatuations. Oh well. I dont care too much for english grammar, and romantic discrepancies do faciliate a lot of creation. Unfortunately, i cant find a scanner big enough to show you my new paintings. They are illustrations for THE HOMEWRECKERS (my band) and the full-length we will someday create. Im also doing a lot of paintings for Spit & Passion, an all new graphic novel Im working on about religion, family, and Green Day. It'll be my firt-ever graphic novel.
On a more taxing note, come out Sunday night to my event in Miami, FL (My hometown) at THE FIREFLY, a rad infoshop in downtown Miami. Ill be reading new work about the embargo, being Cuban-American, and possibly older stuff off Bad Habits and Indestructible.

Sunday, December 27th at 7PM
@The Firefly , 219 NE 20th ST. Miami, FL
Readings by CRISTY C. ROAD & Music by local acoustic act, DRACULA. Suggested donation of $3.
Until then, check out all the new art Ive been making for punk rock bands on the COMMISIONS section in the ARTWORK. I'm slowly changing it, so once you click the first image, youll be able to click the image itself to move on to the next. (No more tedious reloading of the index). As for art, the first piece up is for one of my all-time favorie Miami punk bands, THE CRUMBS, for their new record on LIVID RECORDS. Second is a shirt i drew for the wonderful and talented DEAR LANDLORD. Third, is a shirt I did for ANCHOR ARMS -another rad band from Florida. And last but certainly not least, is the cover art I did for JOE JITSU.
10-27-09 Just when the leaves start turning my preffered hue of orange and mustard, I have to get the fuck out of this godforsaken city yet again. Sadly, I will miss fall for the third time; which means I have only seen actual fall twice. Bummer. The good news is that I will miss the emerging winter cause I will be in the south, (my geographic motherland), in a casual t-shirt! My band THE HOMEWRECKERS are putting out a 7" soon, and to celebrate, we are touring my homestate of Florida as well as Georgia, Louisiana, Teneessee, and North Carolina. TO SEE ALL OUR TOUR DATES, VISIT OUR WEBPAGE! Tour kicks off in Gainesville at THE FEST (where we will play a scandalous afterparty on November 1st at Wayward Council). On the 29th before FEST actually starts; Ill be showing art at THE FEST 8 ART SHOW.
On a lame note, WHILE IM GONE, I will not be accepting freelance proposals if the art is due BEFORE November 21st. Otherwise, please hire me! I am walking recession realness. Also, during and after The Homewreckers tour, ill be doing a few workshops, lectures, readings, and slideshows so please check this webpage for any updated venues, locations, etc. This is all I have for now:

08-25-09 Hello everyone! So as most of you know, I dont make lavish investments, so I have never left the country. Thankfully, I have been invited to read on SISTER SPIT TOUR this September, and we will be traveling through EUROPE! Sister Spit began as an all-queer-girl spoken-word roadshow, which was started in the 90's by Michelle Tea and Sini Anderson, in order to promote queer art, prose, poetry, and performance through a D.I.Y. tour. Early Sister Spit artists include Eileen Myles, Ali Liebegott, Jan Leroy, Tara Jepsen, Anna Joy Springer, and more! Sister Spit has grown since then, naturally, as human beings and artistic movements should.
In its current state as a radical queer performance roadshow, Sister Spit will venture to Europe for the first time. Hosted with readings by MICHELLE TEA, featuring (me) CRISTY C.ROAD, RHIANNON ARGO, KAT MARIE YOAS, and our tour manager EM LEDGER. Please click any of the names for more info on the writers, additional U.S. shows, and other info on Sister Spit! A non-myspace webpage is coming soon! For now, check out our dates and try to come see us! Also, if you wont be in Europe in September, check out my U.S. events in NEW YORK and CHICAGO that will follow! More info on location, etc. coming soon....

HOMEGROWN
Friday, August 14-16
@
SOMArts Gallery, 934 Brannan, San Francisco, CA
As a culture of the margin, we are a people that has often had to forge our own way within the constrictions of a mainstream paradigm and marketplace. As a result we have consistently found gorgeous, and hideous, ways to survive. And like the saying goes, "Necessity is the mother of invention". Or as we like to think, "Your cage is our castle". We are a subculture that often grows its own fashion, food, gender, family, music, sex, recipes, and communication. Artists interpret their own meanings of "Homegrown", from home to grown. Homo A Go Go’s Homegrown exhibit features the work of Jackie Davis, Coco Guzman, Jes Muse, Sara Gottesdiener, Cristy C. Road, Cooper Lee Bombardler, Dana Krusche, Fox Fisher, Shauna Steinbach, and more!
07-03-09 Hello new world- I made the "editable region" (or whatever) of this webpage larger, in order to show my writing, for the first time ever (on the internet). I thought spending too much time looking into a tiny square might hurt your eyeballs. Unfortunately, I have not yet updated the writing section. For now, please enjoy all the NEW PAINTINGS that Ive added in the ARTWORK. The new stuff would be found under the PAINTINGS AND DRAWINGS. Most of it will be featured in the new 7" for my band, THE HOMEWRECKERS. Some of it is about my personal journey through ethnicity, political values, and space; some of it is about my deep distaste in the tampon industrial complex (Invented to block the flow nature intended).
Besides the everlasting need to make shit; Im about to leave the country for the first time in my life with my favorite tour, SISTER SPIT The Legendary Spokenword Roadshow Hosted by MICHELLE TEA. Also featured on the tour will be RHIANNON ARGO, CHELSEA STARR, KIRK READ, & KAT MARIE YOAS! We will be traveling through EUROPE, so stay tuned for tourdates if you plan to be around there in SEPTEMBER 2009!
Until then, Ide like something to do, so if you want to help me set something up, get in touch before I start complaining about New York again.
04-27-09 Finally, my abilities have seem to fallen back into place (They, along with my nerves, went haywire as soon as Bad Habits was released), but I think that Ive agreed to disagree with all the imperfections and its the internal content (not the external marketing) that REALLY matters in the very end. So Ive started working on paintings for future projects: a short story book, my band THE HOMEWRECEKRS, and LEAVE HOME- a collaborative installation with Lauren (BLACK AND RED EYE, THE MEASURE), Tamara (NO GUTS, NO GLORY), and Kate (FOR THE BIRDS, CHEEKY, CARNAL KNOWLEDGE).
The first completed painting can be seen in the ARTWORK, in the PAINTINGS & DRAWINGS section. Its called RAZA ENCENDIDA, and depicts the unfortunate rubble between my sanity, and my motherland. Also, I just did the cover for the new record by TORTURE THE ARTIST (featuring Mass Giorgini of SQUIRTGUN, SONIC IGUANA STUDIOS, etc.). You can see that on the COMMISIONS section. Keep checking in for other new paintings, as theyre completed, as well as a complete makeover for this webpage which will include exceprts of my writing! Until I figure out exactly how to do that, check out my upcoming events.
